School Valentine Disaster – they call success.

School Valentine Disaster: What principal gave the green light for this school to create an explosive heart pinata for valentine? Sure it’s dangerous, but what the heck lets have children create something that could blow your hand off. At minimum they may only burn the school down – right?

School Valentine Disaster

No really, they call this a success. The school project involved explosives, fire and shooting an arrow throw the air. My – what could possibly go wrong? Just watch the video below and you be the judge.

Me personally I think it was a dud. The heart piñata burned to a crisp, the fireworks (explosion) did not turn out the way it was intended to. But thank goodness the school did not burn down. I wonder if the fire Marshall was present. After all. You can hear one teacher say “Hey is the fire extinguisher nearby?”

My opinion: School Valentine Disaster

Don’t get me wrong. I get it. You want to find new innovating ways to help your students learn. But playing with explosives or explosive materials is dangerous. Not to mention the designs were created by children. Hey remember clock boy and when he was arrested. Wonder where security was when children were making bombs. Wait, I mean an exploding valentine heart shape piñata.

What do you think?

Really. I want to know what you think. Am I going overboard here? Am I making too much out of this? It is after all an explosive device they are building. Even if it does sound cute and innocent. The goal – teachers own words “explosive piñata”.

I love science, I love motivating children to learn. But my principal would have never let me do this. In fact I am pretty sure the school board would have been all over me.

School Board: You want to what?
Me: I want to help the children build an exploding piñata.
School Board: You’re fired.
Me: But why? I just want the children to learn.

About

Happy, crazy loving father of two who believes the world is a bit off kilter. I spend a lot of time trying to teach my children to be better than me - I hope they appreciate it.
